Golden Brown Sheaffer Balance Statesman - vacuum-fil - extra-fine point

The Statesman is the 2nd largest Balance pen Sheaffer made. It is comparable in physical dimensions to a modern Pelikan M6xx or Sailor 1911L (ProFit 21). I have large hands and find no problem writing with the pen without posting the cap on the barrel end.

The barrel transparency is good though the color is amber. The plating on the clip and band is worn. The nib writes a smooth, wet line that is extra-fine but smooth - it does not scratch, catch or grab.

The filling system has been restored with modern materials that will last for decades with only an occasional application of 100% pure silicone grease on the filler rod.
