Black Sheaffer Balance Statesman fountain pen

Black vintage pens are common. They are not commonly found in this condition. The color, clarity and surface of the celluloid are fantastic. There is no plating loss on the trim and the cap clip is straight and tight.

The only flaw is a small crack in the nib. It reaches from where the nib exits the grip section to the base of the 1 in the serial number. Sheaffer Balance nibs are notoriously thick and stiff so this crack will not propagate as long as it is not removed from the grip section.

The pen is personalized to W.G. Rumanchuk though the imprint is rather faint.

This pen is comparable in physical dimensions to a modern Pelikan M6xx or Sailor 1911L (ProFit 21).
