~1947 Marine Green Sheaffer Triumph Sentinel Deluxe fountain pen - XF point

Sentinel Deluxe are one of the three largest Triumph models that Sheaffer made. It's siblings are the Valiant (celluloid cap) and the Crest Deluxe (rolled gold cap). I personally like the Sentinel Deluxe the best of those. The brushed steel cap looks very nice. There is a smaller Triumph Sentinel that is a sibling of the Triumph Statesman. But, this is the big one.

These steel caps are difficult to find without dents in the peak. Or, without any dents at all. This cap is perfect. The entire pen is in amazing condition. The clip is tight, straight and has an excellent spring. The ink view grip section  still has the original pale green hue and amazing transparency. I believe this is an early production model because the 1/2 inch (12.7 mm) of the barrel binde nearest the grip section is transparent, allowing even better viewing of the ink level. Later pens of this generation have fully opaque barrel bindes. The green striped celluloid is unblemished and is polished to be like new.

The filling system has been restored with modern synthetic materials that will last decades. The only maintenance required is an occasional dab of 100% pure silicone grease on the filler rod.

The nib writes a smooth and wet line. The cap may be posted gently without fear of marring the celluloid. This makes the pen comfortable in almost any hand.
