The largest 3rd generation Triumph that Sheaffer produced. The Valiant, Crest Deluxe and Sentinel Deluxe differ only in their cap material; celluloid, gold filled, and brushed steel, respectively. The cap may be posted to make the pen comfortable in any size hand.
The ink view grip section has very good clarity and color (pale green). There is a bit of plating loss at the end of the clip and small pits along the edges though I need a loupe to see them well. The celluloid is flawless with no cracks, chips or flaws. The knurling on the filler knob is unusually crisp and clean. The celluloid barrel is opaque by design.
The nib has an uncharacteristic fat point that would likely have been classed a medium - Sheaffer only indicated the point size on a sticker that is long gone. Most nibs from this era are fine or extra-fine. The nib writes a luscious, smooth, wet line.
