1943-5 Gray Pearl Sheaffer Triumph Sovereign - fine point

This is a 2nd generation Sheaffer Triumph Sovereign. I love the second generation Triumphs with their striped celluloid grip sections. 

This pen has very good color and clarity. The transparent stripes have only slightly darkened from their original, pale green.  The celluloid is unmarred. The plating perfect with no flaking, pitting or thinning.

The nib has been adjusted to write a wet, smooth, fine line. It has a slightly stubbing shape that produces subtle but pleasing line variation.

The cap is postable on the end of the barrel. The smooth, "wire" band will do no damage to the barrel. Cap posting makes this pen perfectly suitable to any hand.

The filling system has been restored using modern synthetic seals. An occasional dab of 100% pure silicone grease on the filler rod will keep this pen working for several more decades.
