Sheaffer Carmine celluloid is amazing. The color is so deep and rich. The transparent stripes of this pen have excellent clarity.
There is some worn plating on the end of the clip. There are three tiny flea bites in the celluloid on either side of the clip.
The nib has been adjusted to write a wet, smooth, fine line. It has a bit of a stubby shape that offers subtle line variation.
The filling system has been restored using modern synthetic seals. The filler rod has been replaced with one custom made from black oxide coated stainless steel. An occasional dab of 100% pure silicone grease on the filler rod will keep this pen working for several more decades.
