1941 Golden Brown Sheaffer Lady Crest - Vacuum-Fil
1941 Golden Brown Sheaffer Lady Crest - Vacuum-Fil
Sheaffer introduced the Crest and Lady Crest in 1937. These pens were made until the Balance line was replaced with the Triumph line in 1942. They were available with a Vacuum-Filler only in the final catalog year - 1941. Prior to that they were all lever fillers. That makes this an uncommon pen.
This pen is in remarkable condition. The only notable flaws are a small crease in the cap near the vent hole in the side and a couple of broken off feed fins. There is no lost plating. The celluloid is perfect with excellent barrel clarity and color. The forward threads are sharp and unmarred so they engage perfectly in the cap with no slipping.
The fine nib is a smooth and wet writer. The cap posts gently without marring the celluloid to make the pen suitably long for even large hands.
