This lovely Sovereign is in very good condition. The celluloid is in excellent condition with no cracks or faults. The barrel transparency is good and will allow observation of the ink level. The chrome or nickel plating has tiny pits when viewed under magnification or zoomed photos but it has no chips, flakes or thin spots. It will remain beautiful and shiny for years and years.
The nib writes a lovely, smooth & wet line. The medium point is a bit unusual. Most Sheaffer pens from this era have fin or extra-fine points. The Sovereign is a long, slim pen that fits nicely in my large hands. The nib is narrower and a bit softer - though not truly soft - than the wide, thick and beefy nibs from the larger Statesman and Premier.
