WASP was a Sheaffer sub-brand (WASP == Walter A. Sheaffer Pen). There are a couple of very nice articles on the subject in The Pennant - the publication of The Pen Collectors of America. The Clipper is the best known WASP. It has checkerboard pattern celluloid that collectors describe as "circuit board".
The only flaws are some plating loss on the band, the clip and the blind cap cabochon. The celluloid is beautiful, unmarred and has very good color, clarity and transparency. The original, celluloid covered plunger rod is intact and in perfect condition with no cracks or blisters.
The nib is fabulous. WASP nibs are 12k gold (unhallmarked) and wonderfully bouncy. They produce very nice line variation under normal writing pressure. They should never be pushed as if they are flexible or even semi-flexible as they are too thin for that sort of abuse.
