WASP was a Sheaffer sub-brand (WASP == Walter A. Sheaffer Pen). There are a couple of very nice articles on the subject in The Pennant - the publication of The Pen Collectors of America. The Clipper is the best known WASP. It has checkerboard pattern celluloid that collectors describe as "circuit board".

The tipping was broken from one tine of the original nib. I've upgraded it with my favorite Feather Touch 5 nib. It is much larger than the original WASP Junior nib and I think it does the pen credit. I consider Feather Touch 5 nibs to be among the best production nibs ever made. Soft and bouncy under normal writing pressure - though not truly flex or semi-flex.

There are no notable flaws in the pen. The celluloid is beautiful, unmarred and has very good color, clarity and transparency. The plating is intact with no loss or obvious thinning. I've replaced the cracked plunger rod with one custom made from black oxide coated stainless steel.

The transparent celluloid has darkened a bit. Yet its transparency remains clear enough to easily see the inner workings and the ink level. The plating on the trim is in very good condition. This pen is a specimen.
