These beautiful, striped celluloid grip sections are found only on 2nd generation Triumphs. This is a Statesman with a 1000 price code stamped beneath the manufacturer's imprint and a 3/16" (4.75 mm) cap band.

This pen is a paragon for a 2nd generation Triumph Statesman. It is in perfect condition. There is not a mark on the celluloid, the plating is perfect and the nib is wonderful. The barrel color and clarity is excellent.

The nib is firm, wet - but not too wet - and smooth. It writes a line that is probably a modern, western extra-fine or Japanese fine.

I have large hands and find no trouble in using this pen without posting the cap. The cap does post easily and firmly to make this pen comfortable for those who prefer a longer pen.

The filling system has been restored with modern synthetic materials. They will last for decades with an occasional bit of silicone grease applied to the filler rod. The filler restoration is guaranteed for at least one year as long as unfriendly inks (e.g. Noodler's and Japanese inks) are avoided since they will stain the celluloid and damage the gaskets.
